NFL Team By Team Judnalysis Part XV
The Kansas City Chiefs. I really don't know. They still have Larry Johnson, who has carried the ball about 750 times in the past two seasons, accumulating over 3500 yards in the process. For those unaware, that is a lot. The big concern is whether LJ can keep up the same pace while carrying 21 guys on his back. The Chiefs traded aged veteran Trent Green away to the Dolphins this past offseason and have settled on Damon Huard to qb the team to start the season. Huard played well in his few games last season, but Herm Edwards was hoping Alabama pretty boy Brodie Croyle would have stepped up in training camp and taken the reins (perhaps by midseason if Huard doesn't play that well). The opening game should be an interesting test as they play the revamped Houston Texans. This game will tell us a lot about both teams and their prospects for the 2007 season. Regardless, I don't foresee the Chiefs doing any better than third in the AFC West and will not have a return visit to the playoffs this year.
