It's Lawyer Time

Well, today was my graduation from Emory Law School, where they bestowed upon me a Doctor of Law degree. You can now call me Jud Esq. [Well, except for that whole bar exam thingee I keep hearing about. Today was my official last day as a student, and it was a great day to go out on. The sun was shining without a cloud in the sky.

I really enjoyed the outdoors graduation. In undergrad at UH (The University of Houston, for those who don't know), both ceremonies were indoors --> we had the all-school ceremony in Hofheinz Pavilion (aka the Cougar basketball arena and home of Phi Slamma Jamma) and the business school ceremony was in the Athletic-Alumni Center (on the practice football field turf).

Tom Brokaw was the keynote speaker and he did a fantastic job (just as former-MPAA President Jack Valenti did at the UH graduation in 2002). My boy Kirbo was voted outstanding 3L and gave a riveting speech at the law school ceremony.

I leave Atlanta tomorrow morning and drive all day out to H-Town to begin life anew. Then starts the bar review for the following 2+ months. Today was bittersweet as I had to say goodbye to my clique - (K, Classic, DocRose, and Brown - though Brown will be joining me in Clutch City on Thursday). This past year has been wonderful and I could not think of a greater group of peeps to hang with. I will miss you guys (at least until we hang out in the H and A-towns). Peace up, A-Town down.
