Quote of the Day - December 6
Selling out is sweet because when you sell out, you get to make a lot of money, and when you have money, you don't have to hang out with a bunch of poor asses like you guys. Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Fantastic weekend and quote of the day
After the Houston basketball team scored the huge upset, the football team played a little one-upsmanship for the hearts of the Cougar faithful by accepting an invitation to play the University of Kansas in the Fort Worth Bowl on December 23. Way to go Briles & Co.
In the midst of football and basketball viewing this weekend, I finally got the Will Ferrell comedy Kicking & Screaming, which is where today's quote of the day comes from.

UNFRICKINBELIEVABLE
The game has been over now for over 3 hours, but my throat still hurts and my headache is not going away. This tends to happen when you are on your feet for over two hours while screaming your head off watching the University of Houston Cougars upset the #13 ranked Arizona Wildcats this evening. This marks the second straight upset of top-25 teams beginning last Tuesday with a road victory over #25 LSU. This was the first time the Coogs beat back to back ranked teams since the days of Phi Slamma Jamma with Drexler, Olajuwon and Young.
I am currently watching the game again on my DVR which I was able to record because the game was nationally-televised on ESPN2 and it is just as amazing. We went 20-4 to start the game and though Zona came back, Oliver Lafayette and the Coogs were able to hold them off for a 69-65 victory. Once the clock hit 0:00, I, along with the students rushed the court. Of course, I waited until the cops and security said the hell with it and just let us go. This was my second time rushing the court at Hofheinz Pavilion, with the first time being the first regular season game I attended as a freshman (along with then-coach Clyde Drexler) when the Coogs beat the Texas Longhorns.
Just an incredible game. The crowd of 8,062 was so loud that we were basically the 6th man. The ESPN2 telecast has brought up Phi Slamma Jamma a few times and given the talent and the way these boys play above the rim, the similarities are there (including a raw, wiry 6'10" center from Dillard High School in Miramar, Florida, but whose parents are from Hakeem Olajuwon's hometown in Nigeria). And this is with our pg with a bad ankle sprain and our top center only having played 5 minutes all season. To all my readers in Houston, we got great basketball being played on campus (as opposed to the crap at the Toyota Center right now) and there is something brewing. With tickets at under $10 apiece, it is great value and great entertainment. Next Saturday, the Coogs take on the Bearkats of Sam Houston State at 8pm.
GO COOGS!!!!!!!
