Update

Despite my quotes of the day (for about 4 days per week) I have not updated this site as much I would like, much to the dismay of my millions of readers. There have been extenuating circumstances as to the utter lack of postage, as well as some extreme laziness on my part. Two weekends ago I was in Taos, New Mexico skiing (or attempting to ski) with many of the wonderful people I work with. This was my first time skiing, so my body ached in ways I could never imagine. In the 2 days of skiing, I only fell 9 times. Two of those falls were quite fantastic and apparently I was giving a clinic on proper falling technique to the rest of my training group (which we so eloquently called ourselves "The Short Bus"). The second of those spectacular falls ended with both my skis intertwined with one of those plastic orange fences. It took about 3 people to get me untangled. As they were doing that, I was taking a break on the snow/ice and enjoying the single digit temperatures. I must say I learned a lot that weekend and am looking forward to my next opportunity to ski.

Last weekend, I was down in south Florida visiting my parents and checking out the new house (with the furniture in it this time). The funny thing about it is that it felt like I had lived there my entire life even though it was the first time I ever spent the night there. The trip was a little sad because there were still huge piles of trees that were knocked/torn down by the hurricanes that slashed through the Broward County area.

Other than that, I have no excuses about not posting my movie reviews (or going to more movies). I promise that this weekend I will be posting my reviews of Munich, The New World and Firewall, as well as any other movie I end up seeing this weekend.

Quote of the Day - February 23

A little background to today's quote. Gregg Doyel is a sports writer on cbssportsline.com and is an "expert" on college basketball. He seems fairly knowledgeable, but his style of writing is quite immature. If you have read any of his articles, you would describe him as a Jim Rome-wannabe (basically, a guy that likes to rip on people for no apparent reason other than he has both the means and opportunity to do so). Regardless, I do tend to laugh at some of his material and like any good journalist, he gets his readers to keep coming back. Every week he devotes a column to respond to the "Hate Mail" he receives. This week, one of the pieces of hate mail was simply fantastic and to which Doyel had no reply.

"I am an aspiring journalist, but my insights and writing abilities are limited. I was wondering if you could give me some career advice as someone who can relate to these characteristics and was somehow able to disguise them long enough to land a job at CBS. "

Quote of the Day - February 21

Glurmo: But your Highness, she's a commoner. Her slurm will taste foul.
Slurm Queen: Yes. Which is why we'll market it as "New Slurm". Then when everyone hates it, we'll bring back "Slurm Classic," and make billions.
