B-I-G-G-I-O and the Big Hurt

Huge congrats to Craig Biggio on passing the 3,000 hit milestone last night and doing so on a night where he had 5 hits and the Stros actually won. I believe Biggs was a first ballot Hall of Famer without this achievement and this just solidifies it. Two win gold gloves and be an all-star at two different positions at the major league level is amazing and we must remember that he played most of his career in the pitcher-friendly Astrodome. Now that this task has been completed, lean into a few more pitches and let's get that that HBP record. Then, ride off into the sunset, see your fellow Killer B in Cooperstown and give Burke a chance to play second base.

Further congrats to the Frank Thomas on passing the 500 home run mark and doing so without being the subject of steroid allegations. Way to go Big Hurt! You can enter the Hall along with Biggs.

Friday Floetry X 6/29/07

Welcome to your First Friday Floetry. We'll be taking you back to the past, keeping you in the present, and maybe soaring to the future (if Steve Jobs becomes President the latter could be a reality). Stop by Fridays for some whimsical words to take you into the rest of your weekend. This will basically be a Floetry reading, so when I write "I", I don't necessarily mean Me. When there is a "We" its not necessarily you and me. And when I say "you" I don't necessarily mean you and you. Actually, I'm not personally saying anything. The Floetry speaks for itself, and I'll try my best to give credit where credit is do. If credit is "deserved" is up to you...Please feel free to shout out your suggestions or recommendations for future Floetry readings.

Friday Floetry:

I listen to the beat, and the rhyme is wrote
See, I was 16, eyes full of hope...

I found poetry,

Excuse me, +Floetry+...

I ain't coming at cha quote, unquote "Famous Rapper"
Who turn positive, try to tell ya how to live.
But this information I must pass to the homies:
If hustling is a must be Sosa, not Tony.

NBA Draft Judnalysis

Just a quick, down and dirty recap of last night's NBA Draft. One thought for each team. Please note that I did watch, but did not listen to the draft last night (too busy watching Biggio and 3,002 and the U.S. B-Team playing a solid 60 minutes of soccer against the Argentinians, though the game did last 90+ minutes), so all of the below comments are of my own judnalysis of the selections and trades.

Blazers - Oden = Next Ewing?
Sonics - Bottleneck at both PG and F
Hawks - Safe and conventional - cannot fault Billy Knight this year
Grizzlies - Back to the playoffs
Celtics - Ainge = new Billy Knight
Bucks - Good luck negotiating with China
Wolves - Good luck getting $.50 on the $1 for KG
Bobcats - Once again #23 got by more on athleticism than on basketball iq
Bulls - More defense? Really?
Kings - Still outside Western conference playoffs
76ers - Great draft - steal in Byars at #42
Hornets - Wright = value pick at 13
Clippers - Like Thornton, but Earth to Clippers, who is getting him the ball?
Pistons - Solid picks, but maybe they can get a coach in free agency
Wizards - Young + Arenas + healthy Caron & Antawn = conference finals
Nets - Biding time until Brooklyn & LeBron
Warriors - Why mess up the chemistry, Wright should contribute
Lakers - Will now be lucky to get $.24 on the $1 for Kobe
Heat - Daequan - good inside-out shooter for driving Wade
Knicks - With Randolph, Playoffs and relevancy!
Suns - Like Tucker, but does he fit?
Jazz - If the Coogs could shut down Almond, imagine what the Western Conference will do
Rockets - Yao needs his OT (if you don't understand this, I will be happy to explain)
Spurs - Rich get richer and at least more exciting with hothead Marcus Williams
Mavericks - Fazekas gives Mavs good inside presence allowing Dirk to rain 3s
Raptors - After the moves last season, I give them a free pass this year
Magic - Still no immediate help for Howard, but luckily still play in East
Pacers - Foreigner who will not contribute this year
Cavs - No picks = No help for LeBron
Nuggets - No picks, but year 2 of Carmelo-AI experiment should still be fun

My first entry

So while my blog might be useless to most of the users of this blog...I still want to write. Its kind of like liking the sound of my own keyboard.

The Dawning of a New Age

Judz is back and this time he's got an army with him. In Judz We Trust has a new look and a new identity. This blog will cover any and all topics that we decide to discuss. Topics will be as far-reaching as national sports news and down to the simple lives of your contributing writers (at least the stuff that is SFW). Many of the same features will be available including movie reviews and sports discussions, but In Judz We Trust will be all that and more.

We will be having some new features including a column entitled "Friday Floetry" by our man Brownie, which will be a must read every Friday.

Feel free to leave comments on the posts, but keep them as clean as possible and we will try to do the same.

If you have a special area of expertise or would like to for us to publish something, please do not hesitate to let me know.
