Judz College Football Top 25 (Week 4

1. LSU - Came through with a good victory against Spurrier and the Cocks, tough games still ahead
2. USC - Wake me when they play Cal or Oregon
3. Oklahoma - Looked strong against a pretty good Tulsa squad, but Red River inching closer
4. Florida - Hard fought win over Ole Miss with Tebow impressing, but Bayou Bengals await in a few weeks
5. West Virginia - Can revenge be served in Tampa on Friday night for defeat in Morgantown last year against Da Bulls?
6. California - Same ol' story, but have to play the Ducks Saturday
7. Oregon - Play Da Bears Saturday
8. Ohio State - Appears to be class of Big Eleven
9. Rutgers - Potential trap game against Maryland before showdown with underrated Cincy
10. Boston College - Continue to roll, but need more help in running game
11. Wisconsin - Big game against the MSU Spartans Saturday will show which team is for real
12. Texas - Had an easy warmup against Rice and will now try to get revenge on K-State after last year's high scoring defeat last year in Manhattan
13. Clemson - Good QB + great RBs = success so far in ACC
14. Kentucky - Won second big game in a row, huge games still to come
15. Arizona State - Looking very strong, but have to survive Pac 10 schedule
16. South Florida - Can the Bulls upset WVU for a second straight year and will this really be an upset?
17. Cincinnati - Yes, the Bearcats make the big jump into the polls. This team is about as underrated as they come in CFB
18. Missouri - Count me in as a believer now, plus with Nebraska looking quite average after a narrow escape from Ball State, this may be the team playing Oklahoma in the B-12 championship
19. Virginia Tech - Still waiting for offense to really wake up
20. Michigan State - Let's see how they stack up against real competition in the Badgers on Saturday
21. South Carolina - The benching Blake Mitchell and the fact the offense hasn't been there in two seasons makes this team a rough pick the rest of the season
22. Georgia - Big win on the road at Bama - talent-wise this is a top 15 team (or higher), but inexperience holds them back
23. Purdue - I'm throwing them in here as they look to be a contender in the Big 10
24. Michigan - Mike Hart is simply willing this team to victory
25. Kansas - Still haven't played anybody, but after all of the upsets of the season so far, an unblemished record and ranking in the top 5 for offense and defense make this one of the top 25 in the nation

Rankings Query - I love reading collegefootballnews.com as they have some great analysis and I look forward to reading the Cavalcade of Whimsy by Pete Fiutak every Tuesday, but some of their rankings in this week's Weekly Rankings just confounded me. This past Saturday, the University of Houston soundly beat Colorado State by 11; however, in their rankings, CSU is ranked #62, despite having lost 10 in a row back to last season, and the Coogs are ranked #73 (3 spots behind Notre Dame @ #70, which in and of itself confounds me). Can somebody explain this to me? The Coogs won C-USA last year, had 10 wins, looked better against Oregon (in Oregon) than Michigan did (playing at home), soundly beat two straight teams and they are ranked behind not only a team they just beat, but behind a team that has only scored 2 offensive touchdowns through 4 games this season (and a team that lost to Duke).

Look. If the Cougars ever had the sack to schedule Duke, they would get their butts kicked by Duke as well. Playing Duke isn't like playing SMU one year after the death penalty. You can't rack up 95 points. This is Division I football! It's the ACC! It ain't intramurals. I guarantee that if Duke plays UH in a bowl game this year, Thad Lewis will drop at least five TDs on the UH defense.

I'm not denying that UH wouldn't give up 34 points (those missed extra points do hurt), but after seeing what Navy did, UH would probably put up at least 50.
